MA (間)
MA (間), the Japanese concept of empty or negative space - which also translates as „empty“, „distance“, „blank“, or a „pause“ - is often quoted in Kinbaku.
But it is difficult for us „Westerners“ to grasp what is really behind. MA is not just the physical distance the rigger might take (or much too often fails to take) or the spacing in a complex pattern on the body. It is also this - but same time many things more.
When I try to grasp what MA could mean to us, I draw from my experience in Japanese Martial Arts, but also from my interest in science, philosophy, calligraphy and photography. I don’t claim that I understood what MA really means to the Japanese. I rather give you my individual, personal view, as a western researcher in that matter. I will try to make it relevant for your bondage.
The class will both include a speech, visuals, and a tying session. Some content might be NSFW.
This session is suitable for all levels including rope tops, rope bottoms and self-tiers.
