you can't just add friends in Joyclub because there is a system that works a little differently.
The first thing to know is that if you have the basic membership, you can not ask someone to be your friend. However if someone offers you friendship the you can accept it and then you are friends.
If you have Plus membership then you can offer friendship 5 times per week, with premium membership up to 15 times per week.
To offer friendship, you need to first add the person to your contacts list. Then you can offer friendship. You have 50 spaces on your contacts list unless you have the premium membership, in which case you have 1000 spaces.
