Usually samoan tattooers only knows the real meaning.

Turtle, shark teeth, Turtle Bivalve shells, Spear head patter, Enata ( human symbol) ( pattern and create a story with these element.
For sure the esthetic is important, on the other hand I’m dreaming a tattoo which is designed by an expert of the culture…A tattoo with a story…
